The Alternatives To Vitamin D Supplements

Vitamin D supplements are meant to be taken by people who have deficiencies of the vitamin, so as to bridge those deficiencies. They are also meant to be taken by people who are keen on not being deficient in the vitamin (out of appreciation for the fact that letting such a deficiency to develop and persist may lead them into experiencing some very unpleasant health problems). But a frequently asked question by many of these people who find themselves having to make use of vitamin D supplements is as to what else they could do, in order to get the vitamin. This is another way of asking what the alternatives to the vitamin D supplements are.

Vitamin Liquid

As it turns out, one of the alternatives to vitamin D supplements is to ensure intake of the foods that are naturally rich in the vitamin. But unlike most other vitamins, for which there tends to be dozens of foods from which a person can get them, there are relatively few foods from which vitamin D can be reliably tapped. One of those is fatty fish, to the extent that one can lay their hands on it - frequently. We are looking at relatively hard-to-get fishes here; the likes of tuna, salmon and eel. Eggs, liver and cod liver oil are other potential sources of vitamin D. The most notable thing about this vitamin is that there are very few vegetarian sources of it. In fact, the only reliable vegetable source of vitamin D is mushrooms (of course, those of an edible variety).

Vitamin Liquid

Another alternative to vitamin D supplements is to ensure that you take the various foods that are 'fortified' with the vitamin. There are many such vitamin D fortified foods, and they tend to be labeled as such. Whether you can get all vitamin D you need in this way is a debatable question of course, but the fact is that you can get some vitamin D through such 'fortified' foods. We see many diary food products that are fortified with the vitamin. There are also many vitamin D fortified juices and breakfast cereals in the market. All these may be seen as alternatives to vitamin D supplements.

The third alternative to vitamin D supplements would be in getting adequate exposure to the sun. Indeed, this should be the main source of vitamin D. The challenge is in the fact that to actually tap into the vitamin this way, you need considerable amounts of exposure to the sun on a continuing basis. If you come from the more temperate parts of the world, this is an alternative that may not be open to you. There are also some folks in the tropics who could get all the vitamin D they need from the sun, but who due to the nature of their work (or due to a desire to protect their skins from sun) end up not getting the amount of exposure to sunlight that would be necessary to tap into vitamin D. But at the end of the day, the sun is yet another alternative to vitamin D supplements - provided you happen to be in the parts of the world where it shines strong all days of the year, and you can actually get the level of exposure required for proper vitamin D intake. Otherwise, you may still have to keep using the vitamin D supplements.

Liquid Target-Mins Calcium-Magnesium with Vitamin D3 Complex Country Life offers the unique Target-Mins delivery system for increased effectiveness of mineral supplementation. First, we use a complex of free form amino acids combined for increased absorption. Second, we use not only a 2 to 1 ratio of Calcium to Magnesium, but we also use a 2 to 1 ratio of Calcium to Phosphorus. In a clinical study at Creighton University by Dr. Haney, it was demonstrated that for every 1,000 mg of Calcium consumed as a supplement, your body requires 500 mg of added Phosphorus for proper utilization. Third, we add vitamin D3, which has been shown to support proper regulation of the bodyᄍs Calcium/Phosphorus ratio and activate osteoblast function to support healthy bone structures. This is all combined scientifically to ensure optimal support for bone health.** Directions: Take one cap (1 fl. oz.)(29.59 mL) daily or as directed by a health care professional.
